Hello all! Tomorrow night there will be a fundraiser in Aras na nGael to support the community farm in the Cloughjordan ecovillage in North-West Tipperary. The night includes a presentation on the ecovillage, food from the farm and lots of fun, music and dancing! We hope that you can make it and encourage your friends to come. Admission is 5 euro and the night begins at 8:00pm.
The Cloughjordan ecovillage is a registered educational charity and an internationally recognised destination for education on sustainable living. Please support their farm and help spread the word! It should be very interesting to hear about Cloughjordan’s eco-neighbourhood and how it is doing in terms of serving as a model for a sustainable community.
The Cloughjordan ecovillage is a national education, research and enterprise resource, pioneering a collective approach to making villages, towns and cities more sustainable and resilient to adversity. There is a renewable energy district heating system, a green enterprise centre, an eco-hostel and a number of businesses including their award winning bakery.
There is a biodiversity trail, a community woodland of 17,000 trees, research gardens, allotments and the community supported farm.
Again, we hope that you can come along tomorrow night in support of the ecovillage.
Should be a great night!
