In the last two and a half years we have been lucky enough to showcase some of the finest experimental and heavy music around. We have always aimed to be diverse in our programming and to find bands and artists that express something different from the mainstream contemporary music scene.
We also recently announced our expansion into an independent record label and will be co-releasing the new Ilenkus 7″ EP ‘Hunger’ later in the year.
On the Sunday night of What Now? (Oct 9th) we are bringing you 4 eclectic bands, ranging in style from hardcore metal to math rock and as many more adjectives as you’d like to throw at experimental music:
-
Tired Light
Gracing us with their debut outing, expect some heft from former members of onemandown, Diatribe and spungo’s wing_ged warriors -
Onwards Upwards
4-piece instrumental rock outfit who lie somewhere between all out heavy and math-rock instrumentalism
-
Zinc (debut album out now)
Combining hypnotic grooves with gritty textures to bring you on a trip, melding instrumental rock with shades of hip-hop, electronica and jazz
-
Bailer
Fresh from supporting heavy dignitaries Sick Of It All and Norma Jean, these Cork heft-meisters take no prisoners with their aural delights. Combining hefty grooves in a manner that would make member’s of Pantera or Hatebreed mosh with delight, if you’re a fan of all things heavy do not miss our headline act.
