I don’t own a car and I’ve been getting around by bicycle around Alicante—my hometown—and its surroundings for more than 14 years. The doctor recommended it for a chronic problem in my right leg, but that’s not the only reason.
When you travel by bicycle, you feel more in touch with nature, but also with the people who inhabit the different places you pass through. The pace is slower, you can reach places you wouldn’t reach by public transport—or even by car—and you can stop whenever you wish. It is a healthy and beautiful way to enjoy the slow travel.
