The city’s gastronomic scene remains unstoppable thanks to the latest novelties and to so many timeless classics. In this list, the editors of Condé Nast Traveler share what, for us, are some of the best restaurants in Barcelona.
Disfrutar (Villarroel, 163)
Author’s cuisine. The three former elBulli head chefs at their peak—and one of the world’s best restaurants. Indeed, rarely does a name define a restaurant so completely, so well. When they opened their doors in December 2014, Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch wanted nothing more than to enjoy themselves… and to make their guests enjoy themselves. Not only did they achieve it instantly, but their international accolades have never ceased (ranked 5th in the world according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021). Dishes such as the “empedrat” of hake and almonds, their already iconic gilda, or carbonara-style macaroni that breaks conventions have become part of the Disfrutar universe. For fans: the book Disfrutar (Volume I) is a gem of gastronomic literature that will go down in history.
