Silma López, Protagonist of the Fourth Episode of ‘Children First’

21 October 2026

Silma López’s career extends far beyond Valeria, the Netflix series inspired by Elísabet Benavent’s novels that became a genuine phenomenon – its entire cast was awarded the #YoSoyTraveler prize at the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Awards – and which, in any case, she says she remains eternally grateful for. She is still surprised and moved when she is recognized on the street and people say nice things to her. And it is true that her face is no longer only famous for her unforgettable and charismatic portrayal of Lola, the most irreverent and free-spirited member of Valeria’s group of friends, because she has appeared in films such as Compulsive Miranda, 13 Exorcisms, or I’m Not That One, and this year she premiered in the romantic comedy Almost Everything’s Fine alongside Marcel Borràs.

We spoke with her as she was about to premiere the second season of Física o Química: La Nueva Generación (available on Atresplayer), in which she will reprise her role as Marta, the chaotic philosophy teacher and psychologist at Zurbarán High. Netflix also has in the works The Approach of the Cactus Woman and the Balloon Man, the film adaptation of Rayden’s novel, directed by Kike Maíllo and starring Macarena García and Carlos Cuevas. And there’s more: in January 2027 we will see her step into the shoes of Vicky Luengo in the Suzie Miller monologue Prima Facie, at the Infanta Isabel Theatre in Madrid, directed by Juan Carlos Fisher.

Among other things, Silma talks to us in the fourth episode of Los niños primero, titled Open to Improvisation, about how difficult motherhood can be when there is no safety net, how her worldview has changed, and how important it is to travel as a family.
