“The best restaurants in Menorca” will undoubtedly be one of the most typed searches this summer, because the Balearic island is unstoppable.
With a strong presence in the culinary scene –both nationally and island-wide– and new faces joining the already great figures of Menorcan gastronomy, more and more spots we shouldn’t overlook are appearing on our escape to the calmest of the Balearics. Some haven’t arrived long ago; others have spent years cooking on the island and are now launching a new phase under new names. We also have those that work with local produce, but without renouncing their roots, and then there are those that, over time, have already become true pilgrimage sites with unmistakable Menorcan DNA.
Whichever way you look at it, here are as many Menorcas as you want. And indeed, they are all here, but not all that there is… Needless to say! This is only a first approach to begin tasting the island bite by bite. And if time is on our side, let’s not hesitate to continue discovering the rest of the projects that translate into the perfect excuse to organize a getaway every year, whether in peak season or off-season. Enjoy!
Pez Limón
I’ll admit it, my instant crush on Pez Limón was an absolute love-at-first-sight. A few years ago these Alicante-born chefs won me over by cooking creative, delicious dishes using the island’s local products as the common thread in a hidden corner among Ciutadella’s winding streets. After several visits, this has become my favorite restaurant in Menorca, and there isn’t a trip to the island where I won’t enjoy it. They opened their doors in 2021, and word-of-mouth helped elevate it to one of the most recommended spots not only among tourists but also among locals. And over these years, Héctor and Elena have managed to win the affection of the locals, becoming two more Menorcans at heart.
Its menu is updated at the start of every summer season with new proposals, although it always keeps some house signatures that have triumphed from the beginning, such as the croquette of “la Chon” (in honor of Elena’s mother), the avocado cannelloni, the lemon fish salpicón, or the Vermella beef onglet with pepper.
