Barcelona has many more beaches beyond Mar Bella, Sant Sebastià Beach, or Llevant Beach. It’s true that if you only have 48 hours to enjoy the city you should get to know La Barceloneta and its beaches, but if you have more days, you can disconnect from the urban world at any of these beaches spread across the province.
From Cubelles to Malgrat de Mar, from north to south, bordering the Costa Brava and the Costa Dorada, you’ll find many sandy shores that will surprise you with their calm and crystal-clear waters. Here are a few of them, take note!
Garraf Beach, Garraf
The Garraf Beach is, without a doubt, one of our favorites. A true classic along the Barcelona coast, it features 33 white-and-green shacks used by fishermen and former railway operators who once lived here. The sea view is one of the prettiest, with the cluster of houses sitting on the sand and the mountains of the Sierra de Coma Roja in the background.
It is a quiet, family-friendly beach, located just a 15-minute drive from Barcelona and, as mentioned, it has a train stop. Perhaps the only downside is the difficulty of parking during peak hours. If you go early or late in the day and allow some time, you’ll have a much better experience.
