Clarins skincare tips for healthy, radiant skin

20 August 2026

Within the September|October edition of Irish Country Magazine, our beauty feature with Clarins appears.

As autumn draws near, Clarins centres its philosophy on nurturing the skin’s inherent radiance, pairing potent skincare with luminous cosmetics. At the core of the routine lies the iconic Double Serum family, crafted to help skin look smoother, brighter and wonderfully revitalised.

Clarins’ National Trainer, Louise Sheehan, guides us through the standout skincare and makeup products she used to craft Rana’s effortlessly radiant look, sharing her tips and techniques for recreating that glow at home.

Gorgeous, glowy skin was essential to this look – how did you achieve this?

“The secret was to use light exfoliation beforehand, so I started with a thin layer of the Clarins Beauty Flash Peel (€47) along the centre of the T-zone and just onto the cheeks. I wanted the skin to look super hydrated, bouncy and plump but not overly moisturised – if you use something too moisturising, then when you put makeup on top, it will simply slip and slide and separate. It’s all about applying small amounts and letting each layer sink in before moving on.”

Next, I applied the Double Serum Eye – Anti-Ageing Serum (€72) around the eyes and Double Serum (€145) across the rest of the face. I finished with the Hydra-Essentiel Emulsion (€48) and the new Extra-Firming Neck & Décolleté cream (€78). Thin layers remained the theme of this look! Double Serum Foundation (€55) completed the complexion with medium-to-full coverage and a luminous satin finish.”

Blush blindness is a real issue! What’s the secret to achieving Rana’s perfect pink flush?

“To impart a slightly more radiant, natural finish, I mixed Clarins Skin Illusion All-In-One Concealer in shade 20 (€35) with the SOS Primer Pink colour corrector (€38). A handy trick is to use a lip stain as a base on the cheek. It reads very naturally—like you’ve just enjoyed a brisk walk—and it catches the light beautifully, even when you dust on a touch of powder.”

Here, I used Water Lip Stain in Nude Water (€28) on Rana’s cheeks to deliver a soft stain without heaviness. I layered Joli Blush in shade 02—“Cheeky Pink” (€36). For the lips, we applied Water Lip Stain in Violet Water for colour, followed by Joli Rouge Lipstick in Dahlia Red (€32) and a touch of Mocha Nude over it.”
