“My heart is in the Highlands,” wrote Robert Burns at the end of the eighteenth century. I recalled his words somewhere along the way, as fields of a deep green gave way to rolling hills, stone houses and flocks of sheep scattered across the slope. We had just touched down in Edinburgh and still had miles of road ahead, but Scotland had already begun to win us over.
We were bound for Gleneagles, the legendary hotel in Perthshire on the edge of the Highlands. There Moncler and Mytheresa had summoned us to celebrate their long-standing partnership and unveil the autumn-winter 2026 collection from the Italian label. Among the guests were Rebecca Donaldson, Emma Thynn, Tiffany Hsu, Zita d’Hauteville, Arnaud Binard, Daniel Millar, Alex Riviére, Christian Sieber, Victoria Federica, Sabrina Lan, and Cristina Cheni, as well as other friends and clients of both brands.

The Glorious Playground
Arriving at Gleneagles has its own tempo. The drive threads through the estate and the main building gradually reveals itself, nestled among gardens and golf courses. The hotel opened in 1924 and sits on a property of about 344 hectares it calls The Glorious Playground. Golf, equestrian, tennis, archery, estate strolls… It would take several visits to try everything—and we already have an excuse to return.
Inside, a succession of salons, staircases and corridors invites you to leave the room to see what lies behind the next door. Dark wood, carpets, flowers, fireplaces and comfortable sofas create a particularly inviting version of country life. You might arrive with grand athletic plans and end up spending the afternoon by the fire, watching people come and go, without feeling like you’re missing out on anything. The room prolongs that sense of refuge: after touring the hotel, closing the door and settling into a chair by the window to read feels almost as tempting as continuing to explore.
On the first night, Moncler and Mytheresa hosted a welcome cocktail in The Parlour and a dinner in one of the hotel’s drawing rooms. Francis Belin, CEO of Mytheresa, and Luca Lo Curzio, President for the EMEA region at Moncler were the hosts of the evening. The courses that followed included beetroot carpaccio with Elrick Log goat cheese (a Scottish artisanal cheese), pistachios and balsamic, and crusted salmon accompanied by borlotti beans, caviar and fennel sauce. After dinner, the night moved to another salon, where there was whisky and time to continue chatting.
