PATRÓN Toasts to World Tequila Day with the Paloma Cocktail

18 July 2026

Agave, water and yeast. Such is the simplicity of the formula that brings to life what is perhaps Mexico’s most emblematic drink: tequila. Behind that apparent simplicity, however, lies an artisanal process that requires time, precision, and exceptional raw material. A distillate that is enjoying one of its best moments, with cocktails like Margarita or Paloma, now indispensable in establishments around the world. And on July 24, to celebrate World Tequila Day, there is one brand in particular that has much to celebrate: Tequila PATRÓN.

Talking about this house is talking about tradition and craftsmanship. Made exclusively with 100% Blue Weber Agave grown in Los Altos de Jalisco, each of its tequilas is born from a process carried out in small batches and with natural ingredients, respecting a production method that has remained since its beginnings. A dedication that is also reflected in its broad collection, where each expression offers distinct nuances.

For those seeking a fresher and more versatile option there is PATRÓN Silver, with citrusy and fruity notes that make it an ideal base for the classic Margarita. PATRÓN Reposado, aged for more than two months in oak barrels, provides greater depth thanks to hints of honey, citrus, vanilla, and wood. A step further is also PATRÓN Añejo, which rests for more than a year to develop a more complex and elegant character, while PATRÓN El Alto, the house’s most exclusive expression, brings together tequilas Extra Añejo, Añejo and Reposado (aged in 11 varieties of barrels) to offer a tasting experience of the utmost sophistication.

Preparation: generously fill the chosen glass with ice, squeeze the lime with a hand juicer and pour into a measuring cup. Then, add the lime over the ice. Add 50 ml of tequila and a pinch of salt. Top up with 100 ml of pink grapefruit soda and gently stir all the ingredients, aiming not to lose too much fizz.
