Two Days of Mountains, Coffee, and the Cantabrian Sea with Blue Banana

6 November 2026

Who would have thought that one of the best ways to rest the mind could be to tire the body. As the plane approached Bilbao, with the mountains peeking through the clouds, I began to understand how much I needed to get out of the city. After an hour of flight and another by road through hills, we arrived at Caserío Bizkar, the Base Camp AW26 of Blue Banana. Ahead of us lay two days among Gipuzkoa’s trails and the Cantabrian Sea.

Caserío Bizkar.

The caserío is located in the municipality of Aia, near Zarautz. Surrounded by trees, it preserves the stone walls and the timber lattice of Basque rural architecture. In front of the door, a vintage red Jeep welcomed us. Upon entering, we discovered high ceilings, a surfboard propped up in the living room, and pieces from the new collection scattered through the rooms.

After an experience in Costa Rica for its spring-summer collection, Blue Banana moved its Base Camp to the Basque coast. The caserío would be our meeting point to explore the surroundings.

The adventure awaits out there.
